This recital was performed as part of the completion of Sarah's Bachelor of Arts in Music from Thomas Edison State College. At TESC, she was also a recipient of the Arnold Fletcher Award which recognizes students who have shown exceptional achievement in nontraditional learning.   Sarah received her degree through credit-by-examination, tutored distance learning for ACE accredited music courses, and portfolio. Doing this recital was a real step of faith for Sarah, it is definitely not her preference to perform. : ) At 22 she has only had roughly about 3.5 years total of formal lessons, and only the last 8 months with an expert teacher, Dr. John Wickelgren, graduate of Peabody Conservatory. So this was not only Sarah's first solo recital ever, it was also the first time she has ever performed more than one piece from memory. Sarah was deeply dependent on the Lord through it all, and her love of music only increases her love for God, the true creator of the sound and music! As she looks to the future musically, she plans to continue private piano lessons, continue her study of music history and music literature, begin to build a small teaching studio, hopefully do some composition, and be available for musical ensembles, performance, weddings, etc. Her web site can be found at www.sbeall.com.
