Family Missions

josh beall familyWe believe families serving together in missions work is a neglected resource to the world. We understand that it is difficult for men to get time off, and for women to travel with young children, and also that the financial cost for airfare as a family is very high. These are hurdles.

But the blessings far outweigh the hurdles. A family together in a foreign culture has the potential to learn to love and appreciate each other more, and to better learn to work together as a team, since they become not only a family, but a culture submersed in another culture. Only they understand each other, and this common bond pulls them closer as they seek ways to reach out and minister together.

And the testimony of this love for one another is part of what the Lord tells us is the identifying feature of Christianity. "By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another" – John 13:35 NASB. Again, there are many missions agencies set up to send groups of young people, accommodating families if they are interested, and these agencies are doing a great job. But there are few facilitating the sending of whole families. We believe that is one of the things the Lord is calling us to facilitate.
